A venn diagram shows sets C and D, where P and Q?

a venn diagram shows sets C and D, where P and Q are subsets of C and D respectively.

(i)given that n(C)=33, n(D)=41, n(C intersect D)=x, write down in terms of x,the values of n(P) and n(Q).

(ii)if n(C n D)=51, calculate the value of x

A venn diagram shows sets C and D, where P and Q?
P= n(C)-X

Q = n(D) -x

II You must mean union instead of intersection in this problem.

Because if x is to be the intersection, you've already given it a value which is 51...

Assuming n (C u D)= 51

n (c)+ n(d)- n (C intersection D) = n (C u D)

N(C)+ n(D) - x= n (CUD)

33+41 - x = 51

x= 33+41-51

x= 23

Assuming:

(C intersection D) = 51

x=51
