If I set the air circulation in my car to windshield I am getting cooler air even without A/C(Camry 2001) why?

I am wondering whether A/C is getting switched on without me actually turning it on.

the ac automatically turns on when you put on the defrosters.
Reply:A/C compressor runs when the defroster is on, no matter if you have it on or off, it is designed this way to remove moisture from the air when it is defrosting....
Reply:All vehicles are designed so the A/C compressor will cycle on and off when the climate control is in the defrost position.
Reply:When you turn on your defrosters(which puts air on the w/shield) your a/c comes on also.

Reply:not cooler air but more air coming in and more ventilation and more circulation and more powerful air flow so you feel it is cooler.
Reply:1) Your "auto" switch in "on" if you have a climate control.


2) Is your "Fresh" air switch is on that settign rather that "recirculate? it will draw air from the outside.
